Joseph Espaillat

Joseph Espaillat, General Counsel – Cornerstone Division, brings two decades of experience in class action law, antitrust litigation, and settlement administration. Before joining the FRS, Cornerstone Division, Joseph served as General Counsel for a veteran class action recovery firm in New York, where he also led research efforts to identify high-value settlements aligned with the firm’s business model. He also developed deep case-level expertise to support client services and internal operations. Joseph previously worked at Epiq, the world’s largest claims administrator, where he managed legal teams involved in claims review and payment processing. He oversaw key projects, including the BP Oil Spill, the largest mass tort case in history, and led teams on major settlements such as the Foreign Exchange Antitrust Litigation and the U.S. Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund. In private practice, he worked on high-profile antitrust cases such as Netflix and Babies “R” Us. Earlier in his career, Joseph was an equity analyst at Value Line, publishing industry reports and investment recommendations. His mutual fund research was cited in The New York Times, Bloomberg, LA Times, and other outlets. He earned his B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. from Temple Law School, where he served as Note/Comment Editor for the Temple Political & Civil Rights Law Review.
